New developments in research and application of feed peas, byproducts from pea starch processing industry (pea fiber, pea protein) and Canola meal (and special heat treated whole canola product) in dairy ration are discussed.These feed ingredients offer new functions in healthy and quality dairy production by providing high quality starch, fiber, and bypass proteins (especially by pass histine in Canola meal).Pea fiber and pea/canola protein also provide excellent nutritional ingredients in calf rumen function development and as plant origin ingredient in milk replacer.
