Malaria still remains one of the major public health problems all over the world[1].Although artemisinin has been used successfully against chloroquine-resistant malarial parasites,its chemotherapeutic value is limited to a great extent by its shortcomings[2].A large number of artemisinin derivatives were developed,and several C-10 phenoxy derivatives were found to possess excellent anti-malarial activity,especially compound 1[3].It is well known that chloroquine (CQ) was effective in curing all forms of malaria,considered as the mainstay of falciparum malarial chemotherapy for decades.
