Ionic liquids (ILs) are probably among the most actively researched compounds of the recent past. The most interesting thing is that it cannot only reproduce conventional inorganic nanomaterials, but also provide pathways towards new inorganic nanomaterials with properties that cannot (or only with great difficulty) be made via conventional processes in some cases.
