Rutile phase titania nanoneedles were deposited on the surfaces of the anatase phase titania nanotubes templated by natural cellulose substance by a hydrothermal process,giving a hierarchical structured heterogeneous hybrid of anatase/rutile titania,which shows significant photocatalytic performance towards photodegration of organic dye (methylene blue).
