Indole-3-acetic acid (IAA),the main natural auxin in plants,is synthesized from tryptophan (Trp) in two steps using indole-3-pyruvate (IPA) as the intermediate.Normally,IPA is formed from Trp via the TAA transaminases,and then is converted to IAA by the YUC flavin monooxygenases.
