Cochlear traveling-wave motion plays a very important role in the hearing system ofearly qualitative and initial quantitative investigation on cochlear traveling-wave motion, thetraveling-wave theory was widely accepted with further development and several considerableprogresses made over the past 50 years. However, quantitatively many important features such as thepropagation time of the cochlear traveling wave still remain unclear. Based on Fluid-StructureCoupling Analysis and developed cochlear model, this study quantitatively investigates the motionof human cochlear traveling-wave. By tracing the motion of the cochlear traveling-wave thepropagation times at different frequencies are calculated and also they are compared qualitativelywith known experimental results. This study shows that the propagation time tends to decrease asfrequency increases, which means it may cost more time for human to hear sound at low frequencies.
