The quartz c-axis distribution is widely used to determine the shear plane in the ductile shear zone,based upon an assumption that the shear plane and the central segment of quartz c-axis cross-girdle are mutually perpendicular.In this paper the development of cross-girdle under non-coaxial deformation is simulated using the visco-plastic self-consistent (VPSC) model.
