By field emission transmission electron microscopy, we found that metal-containing particles are present in animals and plants in nature and that the characteristics of a single metal-containing particle or particle aggregate are directly accessible under high-resolution transmission electron microscopy. On this basis, we propose to apply the characteristics of the size, shape, ultrastructure and chemical composition of metal particles contained in animals and plants to the exploration of concealed orebodies.
