Fluorapatite(Ca10(PO4)6F2),the fluoride analog of hydroxyapatite,is chemically more stable than the hydroxyapatite and hydroxycarbonated apatite.Hence,fluorapatite glass-ceramics are less prone to resorb in biological environments and,therefore,are suitable for permanent non-resorbable implant materials that can be used for orthopaedic and dental applications.
