The distribution of dissolved methane and nitrous oxide concentrations were investigated in surface coastal waters of the Gulf of Cádiz (SW of the Iberian Peninsula).Water samples were collected in June 2006,covering a section of the gulf embraced betweenthe Bay of Cádiz and the Guadalquivir estuary. The concentrations of methane and nitrous oxide were determined with a gas chromatograph equipped with a flame ionization detector (FID) and an electron capture detector (ECD).Net air-sea fluxes were also estimated, using the parameterization of Wanninkhof (1992) to calculate the gas transfer coefficients.
