SiC/mullite composite porous ceramics were fabricated by a reaction bonding technique using SiC,kaolin,AlF3,and,graphite as raw materials.The pores in the ceramics were formed by burned graphite and stacking particles of SiC.The influence of AlF3 content on the microstructure(SEM),phase composition(XRD),and mechanical properties of mullite-bonded porous SiC ceramics were investigated.The surface of SiC particles was oxidized to SiO2 at high temperature.
