Toxoplasma gondii is an obligate intracellular parasite that can infect nearly all warm-blooded animals,including humans.Humans and animals become infected by eating undercooked or raw meat containing cysts,or by consuming food contaminated with sporulated oocysts.The life cycle of the parasite includes a sexual reproduction in definitive hosts and asexual reproduction in intermediate hosts.
