We report here the disease evolution and the treatment of a patient with ectopic pheochromocytoma.The patient was healed, after being treated with respiratory and circulatory supports, multiple-organ protection and CRRT for nearly 2 weeks.When misdiagnosed, the patient with ectopic pheochromocytoma being rescued should undergo aggressive fluid supplementation and CRRT in time instead of CVP, which has limited value to guide fluid supplementation.The top priority is the relief of hypotension.Hypertension may be controlled with rapid-acting agents.Good results can be anticipated for patients under comprehensive ICU therapy.
