It is little known that also European countries like Austria have tradition in physiological integrative medicine research, especially Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) including acupuncture research.For more than 15 years, the research concerning high-tech acupuncture has been playing an important role at the Medical University in Graz.Within this keynote lecture, a short summary concerning acupuncture using different innovative techniques for bioengineering assessment of peripheral and central effects of acupuncture is presented.Over the last few years, we have built up a high-tech acupuncture network with many important partners from China.
