During the expedition of 2009, we studied phytoplankton in the Lower Yenisey,Yenisey Bay and in the near-shore part of the Kara Sea.According to published data, up to a half of diatoms found in the area of the Kara Sea shelf are related to freshwater ones (Wiktor et al., 1998).
