AIM: To evaluate a new single-operator mini-endoscope, for its performance, feasibility and safety in the management of pancreaticobiliary disease.METHODS: A retrospective analysis was conducted of the clinical data of 47 patients with cholecystolithiasis who underwent minimally invasive surgery for the removal of calculus using intraductal endoscopy from January 2011 to July 2012.RESULTS: The clinical data of 21 patients treated by transcystic biliary tract exploration, 9 patients by common bile duct exploration, 11 patients by peroral endoscopy and percutaneous in six.TX indications included CBD stones in 32, biliary strictures in 5.Ductal clearance was achieved in 30 patients after one procedure and in four patients after two procedures.There was no complications and morbidity associated with the use of intraductal biliary and pancreatic endoscope.CONCLUSION: Intraductal biliary and pancreatic endoscope is a single operator miniature endoscope that can evaluate and treat various biliary and pancreatic tract diseases by different ways.
