Precise mass measurements usingstorage-rings have shown strong potential to identify and determine newisomeric states, and therefore to add intriguing new pieces of nuclear physicsinformation [1,2].In this contribution, recent highlights in precise isomeric investigation using the storage ring mass spectrometry at GSI will be reviewed, including discovery of a 17 sisomer in the one-proton nuclide 133Sb [3], the shortest isomer ever found indirect mass measurements, and several highly excited long-lived isomers in neutron-richhafnium and tantalum nuclides (183,184,186Hf and 186,187Ta[4]), which support the prediction of a strongly favored isomer region near neutronnumber 1 16.A brief outlook will be also given.
