Many research reported that olfaction played important role in fish migration.Fish use several distinct families of G protein-coupled receptors which include odorant receptors (ORs),vomeronasal type 1 receptors (V1Rs),vomeronasal type 2 receptors (V2Rs),trace amine-associated receptors (TAARs) and Formyl Peptide Receptors (FPRs) to detect environmental odorants.Coilia nasus is renowed for the long-distance ocean-river spawning migration of its anadromous population.
